“The Afters”是由Joshua Havens 和 Matt Fuqua二人组成。乐队成立前德克萨斯州Mesquite的一家星巴克里，二人结识且在那里为顾客唱歌。之后有了组个乐队的想法，“Blisse”是刚开始时起的名字，可后来这个名字已经被注册了，于是用了”The Afters”这个名字。随之，这个乐队才逐渐的被人所认识。
